Hello and welcome to the pages of our Marsden Park Shotokan Karate Club

Our club  was established in 2017 in Kogarah.  In 2022 we moved to Marsden Park located in North-Western Sydney. It is a traditional Shotokan karate club.

We train in the newly built Marsden Park neighbourhood centre and enjoy the convenience of this beautiful new venue. We practice the traditional Shotokan Karate-do principles. We teach and train open minded Shotokan Karate and are fostering approach that is focused on the most useful, effective and practical application and parts of Shotokan Karate. 

Until 2025 we were members of the SKIA associated with Kancho Kanazawa's SKIF. Since 2026 our club is associated with the  JKA/WF Australia association. We are also members of the Australasian Federation of Karate and Kobudo AFTK.

Our syllabus is progressive. It consists of Kihon (basics), Kata(patterns) and Kumite (sparring).  Self Defence aimed at helping students recognize and deal with tricky situations is also covered.

The study of karate has numerous benefits in terms of physical and mental well-being, and it is a journey often enjoyed by several members of the same family. We take our Karate seriously and hard.

Classes are held every Monday 8:00-9:00 PM all belts and ages and Thursday 5:00-6:00 PM White and Yellow belts all ages and Thursday 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Orange + belts all ages.

Our dojo is located in the    Marsden Park Neighbourhood Centre. There is a convenient parking place available within the Neighbourhood centre
